How a Cisco meeting actually starts
The point of RoomOS is that the first minute feels the same in a huddle and a boardroom.
The Navigator is already on
Room Navigator sits on the table or the wall. The next booked meeting is on the panel. One tap joins Webex or Teams without opening a laptop first.
The camera frames the table
Frames mode cuts each person into their own window. Speaker tracking follows the person talking. Meeting zones keep a glass corridor out of the shot.
A guest still gets in
USB-C BYOD hands the room camera, microphone and speakers to a visitor laptop. Wireless share on Webex, Miracast or AirPlay covers the people who refuse a cable.
The board stays a board

Room Kit EQ
Modular kit: standalone Codec EQ, multi-lens Quad Camera and Room Navigator. Cisco places it in medium to large rooms, training rooms and auditoriums. External microphones are required. Triple-screen support is published.
Room Kit EQX
Integrated path for rooms that already want two large displays. Same Codec EQ intelligence and Quad Camera family as Room Kit EQ, packaged for a cleaner dual-screen wall rather than a loose integrator stack.
Room Kit Pro G2

Table or wall Room Navigator is the touch surface across the range. Ceiling Microphone Pro and Table Microphone Pro extend pickup when the built-in array no longer covers the far seats. We specify them after we measure the table.

What the hardware actually does
Six checks before a model name goes on a drawing.
One OS, three join paths
RoomOS is the workspace OS across Room, Board and Desk. Cisco Rooms mode runs native Webex with interop into Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. The same hardware can deploy as native Microsoft Teams Rooms. USB-C BYOD still exists when a guest laptop must own the call.
Camera reach is a measured number
Room Bar publishes a 12 MP, 120 degree lens for short tables. Room Bar Pro publishes a 112 degree wide lens and a 70 degree tele lens, with single-person framing to about 4 metres and two-person framing to about 7 metres. Room Kit EQ steps to a multi-lens Quad Camera. Guessing the bar from a brochure photo is how far-end seats disappear.
Audio stops being the built-in array
Room Bar has a 4-element array. Room Bar Pro has a 16-element array, published as right for people inside about 4 metres. Board Pro G3 has a 14-element array. Longer tables add Ceiling Microphone Pro or Table Microphone Pro on the PoE or analog inputs Cisco documents for that model.
Screens are part of the SKU choice
Room Bar supports two external screens. Room Bar Pro and Room Kit EQ publish three. Board Pro G3 is the screen. Desk series is the screen. A dual-display boardroom that also needs a content canvas is a different drawing from a single 75 inch huddle wall.
Control Hub is the estate, not a login
Cloud management, bulk configuration, workspace analytics and calendar join sit in Control Hub. Teams Rooms deployments also talk to Teams Admin Center. A room that is never enrolled is a support ticket waiting for the first firmware question.
Whiteboarding is a device, not an app tab
Board Pro G3 is a 4K optically bonded touch LCD with two active styluses, palm rejection and 10-finger plus 2-stylus input. Desk Pro G2 carries the same stylus family. A Room Bar plus a passive display can show a shared board. It cannot replace that glass when the room exists to ideate.

Huddle and focus, about 2 to 4 people
Start with Room Bar on a single display. Desk Mini or Desk Pro G2 is the right answer when the "room" is one desk. Board Pro G3 55 inch fits a small ideation huddle that also sketches. Do not put Room Bar Pro here unless the table is already long enough to use the tele lens.
Daily meeting room, about 5 to 12 people
Room Bar Pro is Cisco's published medium-room bar: dual camera, 16-element array, up to three screens. Add Table Microphone Pro or Ceiling Microphone Pro when seats sit beyond about 4 metres. Board Pro G3 75 inch is the pick when the same room must whiteboard without a second wall.
Boardroom and training, 12 seats and up
Room Kit EQ or Room Kit EQX when you want the Quad Camera and a standalone Codec EQ. Dual displays are the usual boardroom drawing. Presenter tracking and Cross-view need the camera and microphone layout Cisco documents for those kits, not a bar dropped onto an existing TV.
Large, auditorium and divisible rooms
Room Kit Pro G2 is the integrator engine: AVoIP-first Codec Pro G2, 8 PoE ports, Quad Camera or Room Vision PTZ, multi-camera director, divisible-room support. This is a drawing with a switch, ceiling mics and often more than one display canvas. It is not a huddle SKU with a longer name.

What actually drives a Cisco room quote
There is no honest single price for a Room Bar that survives contact with a real table, a display count and a Teams Rooms licence. These six lines are what Kasturi prices after a survey.
Device family
Room Bar, Room Bar Pro, Room Kit EQ, EQX, Room Kit Pro G2, Board Pro G3 and Desk series are different bills of materials. The series name is not the quote.
Displays and mounts
One certified 75 inch, two boardroom canvases, or a Board Pro G3 that is the display. Wall mount versus floor stand on the board changes furniture work as much as hardware.
Platform licences
Native Microsoft Teams Rooms needs a Microsoft Teams Rooms licence from Microsoft, separate from the Cisco device. Webex Calling or Control Hub options sit beside that choice, not inside the hardware SKU.
Microphones and cameras beyond the bar
Ceiling Microphone Pro, Table Microphone Pro, a second Quad Camera or Room Vision PTZ appear the moment the published pickup or framing distance is shorter than the table.
Network and Control Hub
PoE budget, VLAN, proxy and whether the room joins cloud, on-premises or hybrid. Room Kit Pro G2 also assumes an AVoIP switch conversation, not a single wall outlet.
Commissioning the estate
Mounting, HDMI and USB routes, Navigator pairing, camera framing, a live test call from every seat, and enrolment into Control Hub or Teams Admin Center. That is year-one cost, not a free extra.
Planning context from Kasturi published meeting-room pages: from RM 8,000 for a 2 to 4 person huddle room, RM 15,000 to RM 35,000 for a 5 to 12 person meeting room, and RM 30,000 to RM 80,000 for a boardroom with 12 or more seats. When should I specify Room Kit EQ, Room Kit EQX or Room Kit Pro G2?
Specify Room Kit EQ when the room needs a standalone Codec EQ and the multi-lens Quad Camera rather than a single video bar. Specify Room Kit EQX when that same intelligence should sit on a dual large-display wall as an integrated kit. Specify Room Kit Pro G2 for large rooms, auditoriums and divisible spaces that need AVoIP, 8 PoE ports, a 10G path and Quad Camera or Room Vision PTZ bundles. A huddle table does not need Pro G2.
What does Board Pro G3 add that a video bar plus a display does not?
Board Pro G3 is the display. Cisco publishes a 55 inch or 75 inch 4K multi-touch LCD with optically bonded glass, two active styluses, palm rejection and 10-finger plus 2-stylus input, plus a dual 96 MP camera and a 14-element microphone array in the same chassis. A Room Bar plus a passive television can show a call. It cannot replace that glass when the room exists to sketch, annotate and keep the canvas after the call ends.
How much does a Cisco meeting room cost in Malaysia?

The built-in array is 16 beamforming elements. Pickup of that array is published as right for people inside about 4 metres of the bar. Seats beyond that need Table Microphone Pro or Ceiling Microphone Pro on the inputs Cisco documents for the model.
Are Desk series devices for a single person or a huddle room?
Desk Mini, Desk and Desk Pro G2 are personal collaboration screens. They fit a home desk, an executive desk or a two-person focus room. Desk Pro G2 publishes a dual 4K camera system and shares the active stylus family with Board Pro G3. A six-person meeting room still wants a Room Bar or Board, not a Desk pulled into the middle of the table.
Can I standardise Cisco devices across every room size?
Standardise the join behaviour, not one SKU. Huddle rooms can run Room Bar or a Desk device. Daily rooms can run Room Bar Pro or Board Pro G3 55 inch. Boardrooms can run Room Kit EQ, Room Kit EQX or Board Pro G3 75 inch. High-impact rooms can run Room Kit Pro G2. People still use RoomOS and Room Navigator. Mixing a consumer webcam in one room and Cisco in the next is what creates the support ticket.
